Persistent AI agent sessions keep your agent’s terminal and running work on your TermSquad Computer, independently of your browser or SSH connection. Herdr is the persistence engine behind these sessions.

Yes, if you started the agent inside a persistent session on your TermSquad Computer. Closing your laptop disconnects your client; the cloud computer and session stay running. Agents still work within their permissions and AI usage limits.
Can I return to the same session from another device?
Yes. Open the Web Terminal or connect with a compatible SSH tool, then reconnect to your existing persistent session. The agent, terminal output and project remain on the same TermSquad Computer.
What is Herdr’s role in TermSquad?
Herdr is TermSquad’s persistence engine. It keeps agent terminals in background sessions and organizes work into workspaces, tabs and panes. It can also identify when a supported agent is working, blocked or idle, helping you see where your attention is needed.
What if an agent needs my approval while I’m away?
The agent waits for your input. Persistence keeps its session available; it does not answer approval prompts, bypass permissions or remove your provider’s usage limits. Reconnect, review the request and decide how to continue.
Is every terminal connection automatically persistent?
A browser or SSH connection is an access method. For a task to survive a disconnect, start it inside a persistent session on your TermSquad Computer. An ordinary shell outside that session can end when its connection closes.
Is a disconnect the same as restarting the cloud computer?
No. A disconnect leaves the remote computer running. Stopping or restarting that computer interrupts its running processes. Reconnecting after a client disconnect should not be confused with guaranteeing uninterrupted work through a machine restart.
How are persistent sessions different from Squad Memory?
Persistent Sessions preserve the work. Squad Memory preserves the knowledge. A session keeps an existing workflow available between connections; Squad Memory stores project context that other agents and future sessions can reuse.
